Recycling Lives
1a Essex Street,

The Recycling Lives head office is home to all aspects of our business and charity.

The Recycling Lives Centre is our flagship facility - a multi-purpose development, home to all aspects of our business and charity.

The purpose-built facility houses: a range of office spaces, conference facilities and training areas; our residential charity and social enterprise cafe; and training facilities for our in-house training team.

Office space & training facilities

As well as space for our own teams - from our finance and commercial teams to developers and marketeers - the Recycling Lives Centre has facilities for rental by external organisations. Our business incubators programme offers quality, cost-effective office space and use of the Centre’s facilities for new and growing enterprises. The Centre also has areas for our in-house training team to deliver practical courses and classroom-based learning.

Recycling Lives Charity & Fresh Start Cafe

Recycling Lives’ residential charity is accommodation for marginalised men to live in while regaining their independence and confidence. Residents, who would otherwise be homeless, undertake training and work placements while having bespoke, personal support, living in the purpose-built accommodation of en-suite rooms and large communal spaces. They may need guidance on working with services, help to rekindle family relationships, or support to develop their wellbeing and resilience. The charity team support Residents every step of the way before helping them to find their own home, once they have secured a job.

Residents in the charity often undertake work placements in the Fresh Start Cafe. On the ground floor of the Recycling Lives Centre, the cafe is open to members of the public as well as office staff. The cafe is run by a team of experienced chefs, using fresh produce and goods from the Food Redistribution Centre. Residents working on placement learn about, and achieve qualifications in, food safety and food hygiene and develop transferable skills in communication and customer service.
