Recycling Lives carbon reduction team recycle first air conditioning unit

THE Recycling Lives Carbon Reduction Team has recycled their first redundant air conditioning unit.

A client of Recycling Lives newest Corporate Partner Daikin, has selected Recycling Lives to become its national recycling centre for all air conditioning units and heat pumps.

Temperature Control based in Manchester sent over their air conditioning unit last week.

Recycling Lives Carbon Reduction Manager Steve Lauri said: “It is great to be working so closely with a company like Temperature Control. Recycling Lives will be recycling and using as much of the waste units as possible to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill.

“This will save a lot of waste being sent to landfill, as imminent changes to the air conditioning regulations will ban the use of R22 refrigerant; forcing the industry to replace its existing air conditioning units with newer, more environmentally friendly units over the coming years.

“Recycling Lives is placed to assist the air conditioning industry during this transition period, helping to safely dispose of any redundant units and to reduce carbon emissions”
