It’s been a busy few weeks for Recycling Lives during the run up to Christmas and the New Year period, we said goodbye to highly successful 2015 and welcomed in 2016. As we get a new year underway, we wanted to say a massive ‘thank you’ to Veolia, who made a generous donation to Recycling Lives over the holiday season.
Veolia are a UK leader in environmental solutions and provide a comprehensive range of waste, water and energy management services.
The firm, whose Preston branch is the Hazardous Waste Transfer Station, is located close to Recycling Lives Recycling Park in north Preston, held a site-wide donation drive towards the end of November. This saw them donate 8 large boxes of groceries and toiletries to Recycling Lives – a fantastic donation which was then distributed amongst the Recycling Lives Residents at the Recycling Lives Centre in Preston.
Due to a rebrand, Veolia also had a surplus of work wear which will also be put to good use by the staff working at Recycling Lives.
Veolia work very closely with Physiotherapy & Sports Injury clinic Alderbank Physio, located in Grimsargh near Preston, who also generously contributed food and toiletries on top of Veolia’s donation. This is the second time Alderbank have donated to Recycling Lives following their first contribution back in 2014.
Neil Flanagan, Charity Director at Recycling Lives, said:
“We are always grateful to any organisation, of any size, for their contributions to Recycling Lives. It does not matter what time of year it is, these donations are always gratefully received. However, I am sure this gesture meant a lot more to the residents over the Christmas period”
Recycling Lives is committed to both our environmental and social impact, and with the help of companies such as Veolia and Alderbank we can really have an impact and make a difference”
