Recycling Park now open

Recycling Lives is driven by the aspiration to create opportunities for people, whilst improving the environment. The focus of all we do is improving the quality of life in the areas in which we operate. Our latest and most ambitious project achieves this. It is the development of a Recycling Park the size of four football pitches.

End of Life Vehicle (ELV) processing; Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) recycling; glass recycling; and household waste treatment, are just a few of the activities that we are developing on the site. The Recycling Lives Recycling Park, situated conveniently near Junction 31 of the M6, will be the main central hub to all our recycling activities in Preston and the Lancashire area.

The vast space allows us to improve our systems and processes, optimising our performance and ensuring we remain competitively priced.

This expansion also creates stable job opportunities. The site became partially active just a few months ago, and in that short time we have created 43 new jobs. This means that Recycling Lives currently employs over 200 people. We have low staff turn over and high staff morale, because we have respect for our employees.

We are committed to ongoing staff training to get the most from our employees and develop their skills. The site offers the opportunity for various plant and machinery training courses, and every staff member will receive accredited First Aid training. A happy workforce is a healthy workforce and with this in mind there is a staff gym and a sizable canteen offering healthy alternatives to a greasy fry-up.

Charles Jackson, CEO, said, “We have worked hard to develop Recycling Lives and make it the strong company it is today. Our expertise and passion for the sector and the people we employ is evident when you visit the site.

We have strong processes in place, ensuring that if we say we are going to recycle a product then we will… we might even make it into a product we have developed and manufactured.

Recycling Lives is the future of the recycling industry.”

Future plans for the site include green energy, state of the art Recycling machinery and commercial space facilities to support local businesses.

There is an exciting future ahead at Recycling Lives. The future of Recycling Lives is green.
